Print Journals That Accept Online Submissions

Here is an updated list of print journals that accept online submissions. Note that some guidelines specify that the journal does not accept email submissions, but does accept via their online submission manager.

Ten journals have been added to this update. Each addition is indicated by a double asterisk. I have removed The Paris Review, which apparently no longer accepts online submissions, and VQR, which has suspended publication for the time being.

Note that the number of issues per year appears after the journal's name. The reading period for each journal appears at the end of each entry.

Unless noted otherwise, the journal accepts simultaneous submissions.

As always, please let me know if you find any errors here. And good luck.

  1. What a helpful list! Thank you. (I see you say that Kenyon Review prefers no simultaneous submissions. I heard David Lynn speak in a panel discussion on this, and he is very firmly against simultaneous submissions. I did check the guidelines, and it says it's a no-no. So I think you can state it even more firmly as you share this great info!)

  2. Yes, they've apparently firmed that up. I just removed the "prefer." Thanks for alerting me.

  7. Ma'am i am a guy in my teens who loves to read and write poems. I'm working on my first manuscript for some time now but what i don't know is how many poems should my manuscript have roughly to be considered for publishing. Your advice would be of great help.

  8. Pushkar--My first piece of advice is that you probably are getting way too ahead of yourself. As a teenager, you have many years ahead of you before publishing a book! Work on the individual poems now and for a number of years. Learn the craft. Submit poems and gather some credits. Read as many poetry books by other poets as you possibly can. Those books will answer your question.
